Prefeito reafirma compromisso de requalificar todos os mercados públicos da Capital durante inspeção às obras no Rangel
No bairro do Rangel, a Prefeitura de João Pessoa está construindo um novo mercado em uma área de 2.039 metros quadrados, que terá 140 boxes, conforto e acessibilidade para os comerciantes e consumidores. O prefeito Cícero Lucena inspecionou as obras, nesta segunda-feira (27) e explicou que essa intervenção faz parte de um investimento superior a R$ 80 milhões em obras de construção e requalificação de mercados públicos da Capital.
Esse planejamento inclui obras já em andamento, a exemplo de Cruz das Armas, Valentina Figueiredo e Colinas do Sul, enquanto os mercados Central, Jaguaribe, Tambaú e Bairro dos Estados e a Feira de Oitizeiro estão em fase final para licitação. A Feira de Jaguaribe será transformada em espaço multiuso e, em Tambaú, a Prefeitura está trabalhando na desapropriação de uma área de seu entorno para a elaboração do projeto. A Prefeitura ainda entregou os Mercados do Bessa e do Castelo Branco.
“O investimento não só é importante, como uma reivindicação antiga da população, dos comerciantes que querem uma melhor condição de trabalho, uma melhor condição de uso nos mercados públicos. Por isso, que estamos com esse projeto em cerca de R$ 80 milhões para investimento em todos os mercados da nossa cidade. Aqui no Rangel não poderia ser diferente, porque estamos avançando, com responsabilidade, com diálogo e com compromisso de preparar a nossa cidade para o futuro”, destacou o prefeito.
De acordo com a Secretaria de Infraestrutura (Seinfra), as obras do Mercado Público do Rangel, já avançaram com a demolição de um prédio antigo. O projeto, que conta com investimento de R$ 5 milhões, prevê a construção de 140 boxes, readequação do layout, com setorização dos serviços; criação de praças de alimentação e banheiros; recuperação das instalações elétricas e hidrossanitária; recuperação do piso; recuperação do telhado; reforma da fachada: acessibilidade, além da pintura geral.
“O prefeito inovou, ele está fazendo um mercado novo e a ideia foi bem aceita por todos, todos estão felizes. Começou a demolição para a construção de um novo mercado aqui no bairro do Rangel, que vai melhorar muito a vida de todos os comerciantes, que era um anseio deles”, afirmou Agnaldo Oliveira, da Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Urbano (Sedurb), que coordena o espaço.
