A Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (Sema), realizará neste sábado (3), às 9h, um plantio de 36 árvores de espécies nativas, na sede do Grupo Escoteiro do Mar Agnes Baden-Powell – 431/SP, no Parque Santa Isabel. A ação ambiental será realizada em parceria com os escoteiros.
A iniciativa tem como intuito criar um espaço verde com espécies nativas da Mata Atlântica, que proporcionará um ambiente agradável para a realização das atividades escoteiras, além de fazer parte dos trabalhos da Sema, ligados à conservação e promoção da arborização urbana, ampliando a área vegetada da cidade, em harmonia com o Plano Municipal de Arborização.
As árvores são responsáveis por regular a temperatura ambiente, servem de abrigo e produzem alimentos para diversos seres vivos, absorvem ruídos, reduzem a circulação do vento, controlam a erosão do solo, renovam o oxigênio do ar e filtram as partículas sólidas em suspensão, provenientes de agentes poluidores.
Em todos os plantios, são priorizadas as espécies nativas da região, que constam na “Lista de espécies indicadas para restauração ecológica para diversas regiões do estado de São Paulo” (Instituto de Botânica do Governo do Estado de São Paulo), com o intuito de enriquecer a biodiversidade do ecossistema. Esse plantio contará com espécies, como ingá, pau-viola, grumixama, pata-de-vaca, ipê-amarelo, uvaia, pitanga, entre outras.
Uma equipe da Sema está providenciando toda a estrutura necessária no local do plantio, como abertura dos berços, transporte e a seleção das mudas produzidas no viveiro municipal, até a utilização de tutores e insumos. Além disso, será realizada uma oficina de plantio com o grupo.
Após a arborização, o Grupo Escoteiro do Mar Agnes Baden-Powell promoverá a criação de um e-book, com informações relevantes sobre cada espécie plantada, que vai colaborar com atividades de Educação Ambiental.
