Agência Minas Gerais | Governo de Minas amplia área de proteção ambiental da Estação Ecológica de Fechos
O Governo de Minas Gerais publicou, na edição do Diário Oficial deste sábado (13/1), decreto que amplia a área de proteção ambiental da Estação Ecológica de Fechos, em Nova Lima, na Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte (RMBH).
O documento prevê a inclusão de mais 250,7 hectares de terras na área de proteção, que assegurará a conservação e a preservação do manancial d’água na bacia do ribeirão dos Fechos e da biodiversidade. Isso é o equivalente a 250 campos de futebol que agora estarão protegidos para preservação do meio ambiente.
Normativo estabelece a incorporação de seis glebas (áreas não urbanizadas) à E.E. de Fechos
A proposta tem importância significativa para a proteção ambiental. Podem ser mencionadas, como exemplo de valor agregado na ampliação, a incorporação das áreas de nascentes na bacia do Córrego Macacos.
Vale ressaltar, ainda, a relevância para a cobertura vegetal, já que o documento prevê a inclusão de trechos que vão permitir a formação de um contínuo florestal e maior conectividade entre os ambientes naturais da sub-bacia de Fechos às cabeceiras dos córregos Grota-fria e Penteado.
O decreto é uma alternativa para garantir a implementação da área de proteção, mesmo com o veto da Proposição de Lei Nº 25.628 que ampliava o parque, mas em uma área menor e com entraves que poderiam inviabilizar a expansão da área preservada na prática, uma vez que a proposta original poderia provocar conflitos fundiários e riscos de judicialização.
O Instituto Estadual de Florestas (IEF) fundamentou tecnicamente o decreto que já está em vigor. A partir de agora, o Governo de Minas seguirá com os procedimentos para efetivar a expansão da unidade de conservação e para as melhorias da unidade de conservação.
