Procon Carioca assina convênio com Ministério da Justiça para implantação do Núcleo de Atendimento aos Superendividados – Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro
Um termo de convênio entre o Ministério da Justiça e o Instituto Municipal de Proteção e Defesa do Consumidor foi assinado nesta sexta-feira (15/12), em Brasília, para destinar recursos federais à implantação do Núcleo de Atendimento aos Superendividados (NAS). A cerimônia ocorreu no primeiro dia da 32ª reunião com o Sistema Nacional de Defesa do Consumidor, no Ministério da Justiça, e teve a presença do diretor-executivo do Procon Carioca, Igor Costa, e do secretário nacional do Consumidor, Wadih Damous.
Ao todo, o Ministério da Justiça vai investir R$ 40 milhões do Fundo de Defesa dos Direitos Difusos no aperfeiçoamento e criação dos núcleos em todo o país. O objetivo é equipar os órgãos que compõem o Sistema Nacional de Defesa do Consumidor para o atendimento qualificado de pessoas com dívidas excessivas.
– O repasse é fundamental para consolidar a implantação do Núcleo de Atendimento aos Superendividados, para que o Procon Carioca e a Prefeitura do Rio proporcionem um atendimento ainda mais qualificado ao consumidor – explica o diretor Igor Costa.
O diretor do Procon Carioca esteve também em visita institucional ao ministro da Justiça e Segurança Pública, Flávio Dino. Na pauta, entre outros assuntos, o descontingenciamento do Fundo de Direito Coletivo para 2024 e a consequente possibilidade de mais repasse de recursos para o Rio de Janeiro.
