Prédio que abrigará campus do IFSP em Rio Claro começa a ser reformado – IFSP
Conclusão da obra está prevista para 2025; primeiros cursos serão na área de Informação e Comunicação
Na última segunda-feira, dia 26 de fevereiro, ocorreu o lançamento da pedra fundamental para a reforma do prédio que abrigará o Campus Rio Claro do Instituto Federal de São Paulo (IFSP).
Com um investimento estimado em R$ 12 milhões e prevista a conclusão para 2025, essa iniciativa promete transformar não apenas a estrutura física, mas também a perspectiva educacional na região.

O reitor do Instituto Federal, Silmário Batista dos Santos, destacou que os alunos terão acesso a cursos gratuitos, enfatizando o compromisso com o ensino público de qualidade. “Serão cursos gratuitos, isso tem que ser destacado. Ensino público gratuito e de qualidade”, afirmou Silmário. A portaria que autorizou o funcionamento do IFSP na cidade permite que o campus conte com até 40 docentes, 26 técnicos administrativos, além de 800 alunos matriculados em cursos regulares.
Alexandre Vidor, assessor da Setec-MEC, ressaltou que, assim como já ocorreu em outras localidades, a instalação do campus do Instituto Federal em Rio Claro tem o potencial de mudar para melhor a história da cidade. Essa expansão da oferta de educação pública de qualidade tanto abre portas para o desenvolvimento acadêmico e profissional dos estudantes locais quanto fortalece a comunidade como um todo.
O diretor do Campus Rio Claro, Eduardo Antonio Modena, ressaltou que a instituição de ensino instalada no município não apenas beneficia a sociedade localmente, mas também toda a região.
A expectativa é que o Campus Rio Claro do IFSP se torne um polo de excelência acadêmica, contribuindo para a formação de profissionais capacitados e para o avanço científico e tecnológico da região. Com a união de esforços de diversos setores da sociedade, a construção desse espaço educacional representa um investimento fundamental no futuro de Rio Claro e de seus cidadãos.
Estrutura
Inicialmente, o prédio terá aproximadamente 3.000 m², contando com portaria, bloco administrativo, bloco hexágono reformado e ampliado, quadra poliesportiva, laboratórios e 17 salas de aula. O primeiro curso a ser implantado em Rio Claro será no eixo de Informação e Comunicação, que contempla cursos como Desenvolvimento de Sistemas, Informática, Nuvem, IoT, IA, Big Data, entre outros.
Também estiveram presentes no lançamento da pedra fundamental: Gustavo Perissinotto (prefeito de Rio Claro), os vereadores de Rio Claro Juninho Lopes, Hernani Leonhardt, Vagner Baungartner, Geraldo Voluntário, Alessandro Almeida, Irander Augusto e Heitor Alves, Pique (vereador de Cordeirópolis), Rodrigo Silva (vereador de Olímpia), Gabriela Arduino (diretora do Campus Bauru do IFSP) e Iara Cury (representante do Campus Bragança Paulista do IFSP).
