O resultado é fruto das ações e investimentos da Prefeitura na Rede de Ensino Municipal, que atende diariamente mais de 80 mil alunos, de 0 a mais de 90 anos de idade, em 113 escolas da Educação Infantil, 67 de Ensino Fundamental Integral e no Ceja (Centro de Educação de Jovens e Adultos), e conta com o trabalho dedicado de mais de 6 mil profissionais da Educação.
Diversas ações e programas educacionais acontecem nas escolas, como o Educação 5.0, voltado à formação de habilidades e competências socioemocionais e o uso de tecnologias; Educação Integral com oficinas de arte, cultura, esportes e tecnologia no contraturno, jogos pedagógicos para Alfabetização, Programa Recupera, Escola de Formação do Educador para formação continuada de professores, com destaque também na fila zerada na Educação Infantil, entre outras ações.

O Ioeb (Índice de Oportunidades da Educação Brasileira) é um índice público bienal que indica as oportunidades educacionais oferecidas para todas crianças e jovens em um município, estado ou Distrito Federal.
O Índice é gerido institucionalmente pelo grupo Roda Educativa (antiga Comunidade Educativa Cedac), uma Organização da Sociedade Civil (OSC) formada por educadoras e profissionais de diversas áreas que trabalham em ações voltadas à educação pública desde 1997, e conta com a parceria técnica da Metas Sociais e da Conhecimento Social e diferentes instituições.
Foram avaliados mais de 5 mil municípios brasileiros, analisando fatores que consistem nas condições dos sistemas de ensino que atendem crianças e jovens, representados pela proporção de professores com nível superior, duração da jornada escolar, proporção de diretores estáveis na mesma escola por três ou seis ou mais anos e pela proporção de crianças entre 4 e 6 anos matriculadas na educação infantil. Também é levado em consideração o desempenho dos estudantes no Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (Ideb).
O índice inclui ainda informações referentes à qualidade da oferta para estudantes que frequentam as redes públicas e privadas, possibilitando uma visão integral do território, incorporando aspectos de domínio cognitivo individual, mas também aspectos sistêmicos, que podem contribuir para o fortalecimento do regime colaborativo no país.
