Rio recebe o Festival da Diáspora 2024 para discutir políticas públicas de combate ao racismo – Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro
O Rio recebe a partir desta quinta-feira (22/02) o Festival da Diáspora 2024, que reunirá mais de 200 participantes de cidades norte-americanas e fluminenses. Entre os convidados há cinco prefeitos dos Estados Unidos e, ainda, representantes de 20 municípios do estado do Rio, signatários do Pacto de Combate ao Racismo e membros da Rede Global de Cidades Antirracistas, presidida pela Prefeitura carioca.
O evento, que discutirá políticas públicas de combate ao racismo e de promoção da igualdade racial nas Américas, será no Hotel Sheraton e tem o apoio da Prefeitura, por meio das coordenadorias da Promoção da Igualdade Racial e Especial de Relações Internacionais e Cooperação. O encerramento ocorrerá domingo (25/02), no Palácio da Cidade.
Na sexta-feira (23/02), a Prefeitura participará do festival em dois momentos, com a apresentação do tema “Políticas públicas na luta contra o racismo” e no painel “Fazendo a política funcionar nas Américas”, que conta com a Secretaria de Promoção da Mulher.
O festival tem entre suas missões promover a igualdade de gênero e o empoderamento feminino, o desenvolvimento econômico inclusivo e sustentável e a reunião de pessoas de diversas origens culturais.
