comunidade conhece projeto de retirada de madeira e propõe medidas de mitigação – Agência de Noticias do Governo de Mato Grosso do Sul
Lideranças comunitárias dos distritos de Camisão e Piraputanga (Aquidauana) e de Palmeiras (Dois Irmãos do Buriti) reuniram-se na manhã dessa quarta-feira (24), no auditório do Campus da Uems (Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul), em Aquidauana, para conhecer detalhes do projeto de retirada de madeira de uma propriedade rural da região.
O empreendimento despertou interesse dos moradores e empresários locais porque o transporte da madeira será feito por um trecho de 11 quilômetros da estrada-parque de Piraputanga, transformada em área de proteção ambiental e rica em atrativos turísticos que recebe número cada vez maior de visitantes.
A reunião foi convocada pelo Conselho Consultivo da Área de Proteção Ambiental Estrada-Parque de Piraputanga, presidido pelo fiscal ambiental do Imasul (Instituto de Meio Ambiente de Mato Grosso do Sul), Marcelo Moraes de Freitas. Participaram os membros do Conselho, moradores, comerciantes, representantes de entidades ambientais e instituições de ensino. Também estava presente o gerente de Unidades de Conservação do Imasul, Leonardo Tostes Palma, e representantes da Seilog (Secretaria de Estado de Infraestrutura e Logística).
Pela empresa que fará a retirada de madeira, a indústria Suzano de papel e celulose de Ribas do Rio Pardo, estavam presentes o gerente de Logística Florestal Filipe Fuchs e mais oito diretores. Fuchs explicou que o projeto da Suzano é retirar 40 mil metros cúbicos de madeira de eucalipto por mês, em pelo menos 20 viagens diárias, isso durante o período de três anos.
As cargas sairão em caminhões articulados tritrem da propriedade da CFM Agropecuária, percorre um trecho de estrada de terra que foi restaurado para essa finalidade, e acessa a estrada-parque na altura de Palmeiras, seguindo pela rodovia por 11 quilômetros até chegar à BR-262.
Entre as preocupações externadas pelas lideranças de moradores está a intensificação do tráfego naquele trecho da estrada-parque, pela presença dos caminhões carregados de madeira, o que tornaria a viagem cansativa e perigosa, sobretudo para ciclistas que têm sido cada vez mais frequentes. Também ponderaram a necessidade de apoio para divulgar e incrementar o turismo local como contrapartida da empresa pelo uso da área de proteção ambiental, entre outras reivindicações.
O gerente de Unidades de Conservação do Imasul, Leonardo Tostes Palma, elogiou e agradeceu a presença dos diretores da Suzano e a disposição em dialogar com a comunidade na busca por soluções que contentem a todos os lados.
Ele destacou que as recomendações do Conselho da APA Estrada-Parque são de caráter consultivo e que as decisões finais cabem ao Imasul e à Secretaria de Infraestrutura e Logística do Estado, frisando que sempre são passíveis de recurso nas instâncias superiores e na própria Justiça.
Filipe Fuchs disse que saía bastante satisfeito da reunião, que considerou “enriquecedora”, e prometeu estudar algumas ações de mitigação propostas pela comunidade e dar um retorno nos próximos dias.
Entre essas medidas e ações estão a construção de uma ciclovia, mirantes e escapes para ultrapassagem no trecho da estrada-parque entre Palmeiras e a BR-262, e avaliar a suspensão do transporte de madeira nos fins de semana, além de apoiar projetos sociais definidos pela comunidade e pelo setor de Desenvolvimento Social da empresa.
Fuchs explicou que todas as lideranças comunitárias e moradores do distrito de Palmeiras já haviam sido procurados pelas assistentes sociais da empresa, num esforço para sanar dúvidas e ouvir os anseios da população em relação ao projeto.
Também o prefeito e vereadores de Dois Irmão do Buriti haviam sido contactados. A comunicação não havia alcançado, ainda, os moradores dos distritos de Camisão e Piraputanga, que não serão diretamente impactados pelo fluxo de caminhões, porém de alguma forma também sentirão os reflexos das operações na rodovia que serve de acesso a toda região.
A retirada de madeira deve começar já em fevereiro. A Suzano deve responder nos próximos dias sobre as reivindicações feitas durante a reunião e apresentar um plano com cronograma de obras e ações que pretende fazer para mitigar os impactos das operações no local.
