Com o propósito de levar água tratada em quantidade e com regularidade para seus clientes em Leopoldina, na Zona da Mata mineira, a Copasa anunciou investimentos de mais de R$ 6 milhões em ações de melhoria no sistema de abastecimento de água da cidade. Esses investimentos vão beneficiar diretamente mais de 43 mil leopoldinenses. Além disso, as obras também vão gerar renda, por meio da contratação de mão de obra local e movimentação da economia.
O anúncio dos investimentos aconteceu nesta sexta-feira (19/1) durante reunião realizada na sede da Prefeitura Municipal, com a participação do prefeito de Leopoldina, Pedro Augusto Junqueira Ferraz; do superintendente da Unidade de Negócio Sul da Copasa (UNSL), Luiz Eduardo Carvalho Gomes; do gerente da Regional Ubá (GRUA), Marlos Portugal; e do representante da Dinamus, empresa que vai realizar os trabalhos na cidade, Pedro Mendes. Participaram também integrantes das equipes operacionais da Copasa e representantes da Secretaria Municipal de Obras.
Mais eficiência
Com previsão de início ainda no primeiro trimestre de 2024 e conclusão em até 12 meses, as intervenções incluem a substituição de 12.530 metros de redes de distribuição de água, localizadas em diversos pontos da cidade, bem como a adequação e modernização das 16 unidades de bombeamento de água que compõem o sistema de abastecimento. “Vamos realizar intervenções significativas no sistema de abastecimento por meio da instalação de novas redes e adutoras, e a substituição de todos os 33 conjuntos motobomba por equipamentos mais modernos e eficientes, melhorando sobremaneira a distribuição de água para os nossos clientes em Leopoldina”, explicou Luiz Eduardo Carvalho Gomes.
O gerente Marlos Portugal também falou sobre os benefícios das intervenções. “Essas ações garantirão uma maior eficiência na prestação de serviços e trará melhores condições para que os técnicos da Companhia possam atuar, inclusive, no combate às perdas de água que geram transtornos para a população, como nos casos de vazamento e falta de água no padrão”, disse o gerente. Além disso, elas também trarão melhorias no custo de produção e garantirão melhor resposta na retomada do abastecimento em casos de paralisação para manutenções emergenciais ou programadas.
O prefeito falou sobre a satisfação em receber a notícia dos novos investimentos. “Na condição de prefeito de Leopoldina sou muito feliz com a Copasa e estou muito satisfeito em saber que novos e importantes investimentos serão realizados aqui, no sentido de melhorar cada vez mais a eficiência dos serviços em nossa cidade e fazendo com que nossa população tenha cada vez mais acesso a uma água da mais alta qualidade”, declarou.

Vale lembrar que recentemente a Copasa realizou um investimento de R$ 2 milhões na implantação de novos reservatórios de água nos bairros Imperador, Cidade Alta, Bela Vista, Jardim Bela Vista e São Cristóvão.
