Transformando tecnologia em educação: projeto descaracterização de TV Box beneficia escolas carentes – IFSP

Alunos do IFSP descaracterizam TVs Box e criaram computadores de baixo custo para municípios carentes

Na última segunda-feira (04), representantes dos campi Boituva, Itapetininga, Salto e Sorocaba participaram da cerimônia, na sede da Delegacia da Receita Federal, em Sorocaba, para a entrega de 1500 TVs Box descaracterizadas a 30 municípios da região do Vale do Paraíba, beneficiando cidades com baixo Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH), na ocasião também foi apresentado um protótipo de motorização de cadeiras de rodas, feito a partir de peças hoverboards apreendidos.

A iniciativa integra o projeto, denominado Bem-Te-Vi, que faz parte da iniciativa “Receita Cidadã”, que busca dar uma nova utilidade aos materiais apreendidos pela Receita Federal. As TV Box, anteriormente usadas para desbloquear canais de TV por assinatura de forma irregular, agora ganham uma segunda vida como computadores educacionais.

Os estudantes do IFSP desempenharam um papel crucial no projeto, desinstalando o software malicioso da TV Box e instalando o sistema operacional Linux, transformando os equipamentos em computadores de baixo custo. Os dispositivos descaracterizados pelos estudantes do IFSP foram doadas aos municípios: Alambari, Apiaí, Araçariguama, Barão de Antonina, Barra do Chapéu, Bom Sucesso do Itararé, Buri, Campina do Monte Alegre, Cesário Lange, Coronel Macedo, Guareí, Itaberá, Itaóca, Itaporanga, Itarapuã Paulista, Nova Campina, Pilar do Sul, Quadra, Ribeirão Grande, Riversul, São Miguel Arcanjo, Sarapuí, Taquarivaí e Torre de Pedra e contribuirão para a inclusão digital de alunos de escolas públicas.

A ação visa não apenas promover a cidadania, mas também evitar a geração de lixo eletrônico, dando um destino sustentável aos produtos apreendidos. Ari José Brandão Júnior, delegado da Receita Federal, destaca a importância da parceria com instituições de ensino para realizar a transformação desses equipamentos.

O professor Luis Henrique Sacchi, responsável pelo projeto no IFSP, ressalta a relevância da experiência para os alunos, que aprendem não apenas a descaracterizar os dispositivos, mas também a instalar sistemas operacionais e gerenciar sistemas, enriquecendo seu currículo e preparando-os para o mercado de trabalho.

O projeto de Descaracterização da TV Box do IFSP também ganhou destaque em eventos acadêmicos. O estudante Thiago Rafael Gonçalves da Silva apresentou o projeto no VII CONEMAC, destacando a vivência dos alunos em atividades extensionistas. Além disso, o curso de Bacharelado em Ciência da Computação, do Campus Salto, foi escolhido para apresentar o projeto no II SENCE Rede Federal, evidenciando sua relevância dentro da Rede Federal de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica.

Segundo o delegado Brandão Jr., a intenção é ampliar o projeto para outros municípios do estado de São Paulo, proporcionando benefícios educacionais e tecnológicos para comunidades carentes. A parceria entre o IFSP e a Receita Federal, fundamentada na transformação de percepções em oportunidades educacionais, destaca-se como um exemplo inspirador de inovação social. 

Inovação na Mobilidade

O professor Sérgio Shimura, do Campus Sorocaba, está à frente de um projeto inovador que visa aprimorar a mobilidade de cadeiras de rodas por meio da motorização de cadeiras de rodas. O projeto, iniciado em 2020, ganha destaque com uma versão recente que promete atender aos requisitos fundamentais.

Um convite do médico, amigo do docente, em 2020, deu origem ao projeto focado na motorização de cadeiras de rodas, até o momento foram desenvolvidas quatro versões. As duas primeiras, projetadas com uma roda, revelaram-se inadequadas para terrenos irregulares. A terceira, com duas rodas, apresentou melhorias, mas ainda carecia de força suficiente.
A versão mais recente, concluída há dois meses, incorpora dois motores e tração por correia dentada, utilizando as rodas originais da cadeira. Essa configuração demonstrou o melhor desempenho, marcando o caminho para futuras etapas do projeto. O professor Shimura destaca parceria com o Instituto Santos Dummont (ISD) de Natal, RN, na criação de interfaces para o projeto.

Um impulso significativo veio da Receita Federal, que doou 37 hoverboards para o desenvolvimento do projeto. Atualmente o projeto conta também com o apoio de uma distribuidora de cadeiras de rodas em Sorocaba, o grupo agora planeja adaptar a motorização para diferentes modelos de cadeiras.

A próxima fase inclui a reprodução e teste da versão atual, buscando atender a requisitos cruciais: capacidade de condução em diversos pisos, elevação de rampas de 15%, autonomia de 4 horas, adaptação acessível e a preservação da transportabilidade em automóveis, além disso, ela deverá ser comandada por acelerômetro e por interface miomuscular, o modelo apresentado é comandado via Joystick.

Além do ISD, a Poli Mecatrônica, de SP, e o CNPQ integram as parcerias no projeto. O modelo atual se destaca por sua força e desempenho superior em comparação com os protótipos anteriores. O Professor Shimura conta com o suporte de um estudante bolsista do CNPQ, do curso técnico integrado em eletroeletrônica, para contribuir para o desenvolvimento do projeto.

A motorização de cadeiras de rodas apresenta desafios únicos, mas o comprometimento da equipe liderada pelo Prof. Sérgio Shimura aponta para uma solução inovadora que pode transformar a vida de muitas pessoas com mobilidade reduzida.
